Judge Rejects Trump Limit On Gender-Affirming Care
(Salem, OR) -- A federal judge has sided with Oregon and several other states in a lawsuit blocking a federal directive to stop Medicare and Medicaid funding from providers of gender-affirming care for minors. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. made the rule. Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield said, "Every family deserves the freedom to make deeply personal health care decisions with their doctors." This was a second attempt by the federal government to impose the rule and the judge said the original ruling stands.
