(Portland, OR) -- A recall effort is underway against Portland Public Schools Board Chair Eddie Wang following reports about a leaked draft audit of the district's construction program. Former board member Michael Rosen filed the petition, alleging Wang failed in his oversight responsibilities after auditors reportedly found the district was at increased risk of fraud and that contractor PROCEDEO was overpaid by more than 700-thousand dollars. Wang disputes the allegations, while another board member says the audit process is not yet complete. Rosen needs to collect 38-thousand valid signatures within three months to put the recall before voters.
