Oregon State Hospital Found Insufficient
(Salem, OR) -- A Marion County grand jury has found the Oregon State Hospital doesn't have the capacity to safely care for the number of patients in custody. The grand jury met 13 times and heard 47 hours of testimony from 40 witnesses. Nineteen findings were issued that relate to concerns about patient experience, safety, staffing and leadership. Marion County District Attorney Paige Clarkson said the state's behavioral health system must do better by increasing capacity and safety.
