Oregon Tobacco Use Declines
Category: State News
(Portland, OR) -- Tobacco use in Oregon is down, but e-cigarette use is up among adults. A state report found youth and adult cigarette smoking declined in 2024, along with cigarette sales. Youth e-cigarette use declined, but more adult smokers switched to e-cigarettes. The changes might be due to Oregon increasing the age to buy nicotine and tobacco products to 21, increased tobacco taxes and Tobacco Retail Licensing requirements.
