(North Plains, OR)  --  A man suspected in a fatal shooting is dead following a house fire in North Plains.  Washington County sheriff's deputies say the body of 31-year-old Brian Olson was found inside the burning home following a standoff at the residence on Northwest Mountaindale Road yesterday morning.  Authorities believe Olson shot and critically wounded 24-year-old James Crandall during a dispute at the home.  The fire started around three p.m. while Olson was involved in the standoff with deputies.  He was found dead when firefighters entered the home.

  • ORE 22 remains CLOSED between Idanha and the junction with U.S. 20 (milepost 53-81) following a tanker truck crash that caused a fuel spill yesterday. The road will be closed to thru traffic indefinitely for the clean up of the fuel spill and recovery of the tanker.
