(St. Helens, OR)  --  The sheriff of Columbia County is warning that citizen safety will be under threat if the county jail shuts down.  Sheriff Jeff Dickerson is urging voters to approve a seven-million-dollar levy that would keep the jail running for another three years.  The levy vote is slated for May 20th.  Columbia County voters rejected a similar levy in November.
