OHA Changes Residential Treatment Rules

(Salem, OR) -- The Oregon Health Authority is changing some rules for residential treatment facilities. Marion County Commissioners criticized the original rules, claiming they knowingly put staff and the public at risk by discharging violent patients and not allowing workers to intervene if a patient tries to harm themselves. Under new rules, the threat of harm and damage to property are treated just as violent behavior.
