OR Lawmakers Demand Investigation Into ICE Tire Slashing

Categories: State News

(Hillsboro, OR) -- Oregon's congressional delegation is demanding answers after ICE agents allegedly slashed a couple's tires in Hillsboro. On October 7th, video shows the agents in unmarked cars with emergency lights on pull a vehicle over. The couple in the car had been recording the agents on video in a grocery store parking lot. A masked person wearing an "ICE Agent" marked vest runs up to the car, opens a knife and slashes the tire. The driver pulls into the emergency lane and the agent runs up and cuts the tire again. Oregon Senators Ron Wyden and Jeff Merkley, along with Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici, are calling on the Inspector General for the Department of Homeland Security to open an investigation and preserve evidence in the case.
