(Florence, OR) -- One man is dead following a crash that sent his ATV airborne at the Umpqua Dunes National Recreation Area. The Douglas County Sheriff's Office says 31-year-old Austin Durrett of Portland was riding with a group Sunday when he took off to help another person who had run out of fuel. The group found him about 45 minutes later. It appears he traveled off a 40-foot razorback dune at a high rate of speed. The ATV went airborne just before the crash.
