(Portland, OR) -- A Multnomah County judge is ruling against 19 motions to dismiss a lawsuit against the fossil fuel industry. It claims Exxon Mobil, and other fuel providers, knew fossil fuels would drive climate change and they created doubt about it, so they could continue selling fuel that contributed to the 2021 Heat Dome and wildfires. The Court upheld Valero's motion to dismiss based on jurisdiction. The lawsuit seeks 51-billion-dollars in damages. The case continues in Multnomah County Circuit Court.
