(Oregon City, OR) -- A commercial poultry flock in Clackamas County has bird flu. It's the first cases detected this year in Oregon. A diagnostic lab at Oregon State University confirmed the virus November 2nd and a national lab confirmed it on Wednesday. Oregon's Department of Agriculture placed the flock under quarantine. Officials say none of the birds infected with Avian Influenza entered the food supply chain. Experts say detections are higher in fall and spring because wild birds spread the virus during their migration.
