Oregon Health Care Workers Lag In Flu Vaccines
(Portland, OR) -- Only half of the health care workers in Oregon get vaccinated against flu. The Oregon Health Authority reports the vaccination rate dropped from 85 percent in 2019 to 52 percent last fall. Only 25 percent of health care workers who care for some of the highest risk patients in the state living in nursing facilities get the flu vaccine. Ambulatory surgery centers had the highest rate at 62 percent followed by hospitals at 57 percent. Oregon's goal is to have 90 percent of health care workers vaccinated against flu.
