Ducks vs Lubbock Streak...Thrilla Cyclocross Returns

College Football:

Oregon is on the road at Texas Tech Saturday where a 16 game non conference home winning streak is on the line for the Red Raiders. The game is set to be played in front of a record sellout with temperatures in the 90s at kick-off. With that heat it’s probably a good idea the Ducks will wear white uniforms with silver helmets. Hear pre and post-game coverage and the 4 pm Kickoff Saturday on KBND.

NFL:

In San Francisco there is a big deal …The contract holdout of Nick Bosa ended yesterday with reports saying the defensive end has signed a five-year, $170 million contract extension, making him the NFL’s highest paid defensive player. The Seattle Seahawks had Rookie receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba at practice yesterday after recovering from a broken wrist. And the latest team injury report also has Linebackers Derrick Hall and Darrell Taylor as limited in practice; both could play Sunday. Rookie cornerback Devon Witherspoon may not be ready. Safety Jamal Adams won't play this week. The Rams are at Lumen Field to start the season this Sunday.

MLB:

Seattle snapped their three game losing streak with an 8 to 4 win over Cincinnati yesterday … The Ms are a game behind the Astros for the division lead. The Giants fell behind early and could only manage 2 runs on 10 hits losing 8 to 2 to the Cubs yesterday. San Francisco has lost 6 straight…and are falling farther out of the wildcard chase. The Giants return home for a series against Colorado starting tomorrow.

Washington State plays Colorado State at 4

NBA:

A story in Forbes reveals the Trail Blazers didn’t have many decent offers for Damian Lillard even before the star guard let it be known he would only play for the Miami Heat. An unnamed executive in the article cited Lillard’s  large guaranteed contract, game-limiting injuries the last two seasons, and that he’s in the back nine of his career as the reason there is a lack of interest for teams to part ways with assets the Blazers would agree on. A trade for Lillard probably won’t happen until the season is underway, when Portland could gain more value in a deal with a team looking to make a run.
