Trail Blazers' Justise Winslow Has Ankle Surgery

The Blazers won't be getting Justise Winslow back this season.  Portland announced on Wednesday that the forward underwent a successful surgery on his left ankle.  Winslow is expected to be ready for the 2023-24 season.  The 27-year-old was injured on December 21st and ended up having a bone morrow aspirate concentrate procedure on his ankle.  Winslow was limited to 29 games and averaged 6.8 points and five rebounds per game this season.  

Trail Blazers Lose To Kings

The Trail Blazers suffered a fourth straight loss.  Portland fell 120-80 to the Kings at the Moda Center.  Rookie Shaedon Sharpe led the short-handed Blazers with 30 points, seven rebounds and seven assists.  Kevin Knox the Second added a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.  Portland combined to shoot just 32.3-percent from the field.  The Trail Blazers dropped to 32-and-44 and host the Kings again tomorrow night.  
 

Kraken Host Ducks Tonight

The Kraken are returning to home ice.  Seattle hosts the Anaheim Ducks tonight at Climate Pledge Arena.  The Kraken come off a 5-1 loss to the Wild and have split their last four games.  Jaden Schwartz scored his 18th goal of the season in the loss to Minnesota.  Seattle dropped to 40-25-and-8 and is fourth in the Pacific Division with 88 points.  Vince Dunn leads the team with 48 assists and 61 points this season.  
 

North Texas Faces UAB In NIT Final Tonight

 North Texas is set to play for the first NIT title in school history.  The Mean Green will square off against Conference USA rival UAB tonight at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas.  UNT has defeated Alcorn State, Sam Houston, Oklahoma State and Wisconsin on its way to the final.  This is the fourth time the two teams will meet head-to-head on the hardwood this season.  The Mean Green hold a 2-and-1 record over the Blazers.  

Mariners Host Guardians For Opening Day

The 2023 MLB season is here.  Seattle hosts the Cleveland Guardians tonight for Opening Day at T-Mobile Park.  The Mariners tabbed right-hander Luis Castillo as their starter for the opener.  Opposite him is fellow right-hander Shane Bieber for Cleveland.  Seattle finished last season 90-and-72 and made the playoffs for the first time since 2001.  The M's notably added Teoscar Hernandez, AJ Pollock and Kolten Wong in the offseason. 

Prep Softball and Baseball Preview

In prep softball at the Redmond Invitational, the Panthers welcome Sisters while Ridgeview battles Cascade. Also, Mountain View plays Madras and Corbett in a doubleheader. Elsewhere Bend challenges Sheldon while Caldera hosts West Albany. On the baseball diamond Summit meets Wilcox and Mountain View plays Santa Barbara California. Redmond entertains Lincoln while Ridgeview plays Littleton Colorado

Portland Winterhawks Close Season With W

On the ice, the Portland Winterhawks closed out the regular season with a win on the road, beating Seattle 3-1. Portland finishes the season with a 40-20-5 record and will play the Everett Silvertips in the first round of the playoffs.

Seahawks Bring Back LB Bobby Wagner

The Seahawks are bringing back a fan favorite.  Seattle announced it agreed to a one-year deal with linebacker Bobby Wagner over the weekend.  The contract is reportedly worth seven-million dollars.  Wagner returns to the Seahawks after spending one season with the Los Angeles Rams.  The 32-year-old racked up 140 tackles, six sacks and two interceptions in 17 games.  Wagner had signed a five-year deal with the Rams, but was released in March after just one season. 

Gonzaga Eliminated In Elite Eight

Gonzaga's season came to an end in the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament.  The third-seeded Bulldogs fell to fourth-seeded UConn 82-54 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.  Drew Timme scored a team-high 12 points and collected 10 rebounds in the losing effort.  Gonzaga shot just 33.3-percent from the field and 10-percent from beyond the three-point arc.  The Bulldogs close the season with a 31-and-6 record. 

Trail Blazers Fall To Thunder

The Trail Blazers suffered a second straight loss.  Portland fell 118-112 to the Oklahoma City Thunder at the Moda Center.  Rookie Shaedon Sharpe scored a team-high 29 points and collected five rebounds in the loss.  Damian Lillard missed the game as the team reportedly considers shutting him down for the remainder of the season.  The Blazers had 18 turnovers as they dropped to 32-and-42.  Portland hosts the New Orleans Pelicans tonight. 

Prep Track & Field Events Today

This afternoon we have two track & field events in the area. First Crook County and Mountain View duals are this afternoon. Elsewhere Bend hosts Sisters and La Pine for a three-team meet beginning at 3 pm.

Oregon Eliminated From NIT Tournament

The Ducks' season has come to an end.  Oregon fell to Wisconsin 61-58 in the quarterfinals of the NIT Tournament in Eugene.  Keeshawn Barthelemy scored a team-high 15 points and collected six rebounds in the losing effort.  The Ducks shot just 28.6-percent from three-point range in the loss.  To make matters worse, the team also missed eight free throws.  Oregon closes the season with a 21-and-14 record.  
 

Trail Blazers Visit Jazz Tonight

The Trail Blazers are hoping to snap their six-game losing skid.  Portland takes on the Utah Jazz tonight in Salt Lake City.  The Blazers come off a 117-102 loss to the Clippers and have dropped six-in-a-row.  Jusuf Nurkic tallied 23 points and 11 rebounds in the loss to Los Angeles.  Anfernee Simons, Jerami Grant and Justise Winslow are all listed out for tonight's game.  Portland comes in at 31-and-40.  

Kraken Defeat Stars In Overtime

The Kraken blew a third period lead, but earned a win in overtime.  Seattle defeated the Stars 5-4 in OT in Dallas.  Adam Larsson scored the game-winning goal in overtime after Joe Pavelski and Jamie Benn helped Dallas extend the game late in the third period.  Brandon Tanev scored a pair of goals for the Kraken, while Daniel Sprong and Jared McCann added scores.  Seattle improved to 39-24-and-7 and is fourth in the Pacific Division with 85 points.  The Kraken visit the Nashville Predators tomorrow night.  

Japan Beats USA To Win World Baseball Classic

Japan has claimed its first World Baseball Classic title since 2009.  Japan defeated the United States 3-2 at LoanDepot Park in Miami on Tuesday night for its third WBC title in the fifth-ever Classic.  Shohei Ohtani struck out Mike Trout in the final at-bat to secure the win and earn the save.  Munetaka Murakami and Kazuma Okamoto both homered in the win for Japan.  Trea Turner and Kyle Schwarber both hit solo home run shots for the U.S. in the losing effort.  Merrill Kelly was charged with the loss on the mound after allowing two earned runs in just over one inning pitched.  The sixth iteration of the WBC is scheduled to be played in 2026.  

Ducks Make it Past UCF and onto Quarterfinal in NIT

Oregon defeated UCF 68-54 in the second round of the NIT Tournament in Eugene.  The Ducks advance to play Wisconsin in the quarterfinals on Wednesday.  Elsewhere, Gonzaga is advancing to the Sweet 16.  The third-seeded Bulldogs defeated sixth-seeded TCU 84-81 in a second round matchup of the NCAA Tournament in Denver.  Drew Timme scored 28 points and collected eight rebounds in the victory.  Gonzaga will play second-seeded UCLA on Thursday night in Las Vegas.

Trail Blazers Fall To Clippers

The Trail Blazers suffered a sixth straight loss.  Portland fell 117-102 to the Los Angeles Clippers at the Honda Center.  The Blazers shot just 20.7-percent from deep in the loss.  Jusuf Nurkic [[ you-SUF nur-KITCH ]] led Portland with 23 points, 11 rebounds and two blocks.  Damian Lillard chipped in with 21 points and nine assists.  The Trail Blazers fell to 31-and-40 and stay on the road to play the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night.  

Kraken Visit Stars Tomorrow

The Kraken are looking to bounce back as they hit the road.  Seattle takes on the Stars tomorrow night in Dallas.  The Kraken come off a 6-4 loss to the Oilers and have dropped four of their last five games.  Jaden Schwartz scored his 17th goal of the season in the loss to Edmonton.  Seattle fell to 38-24-and-7 and is fourth in the Pacific Division with 83 points.  Vince Dunn leads the team with 44 assists and 57 points this season.  

MLS Roundup

The Sounders and Timbers came away with different results over the weekend.  Seattle battled to a scoreless draw with Los Angeles FC on Saturday at Lumen Field.  The Sounders are third in the Western Conference with seven points.  Meanwhile, Portland lost to Atlanta United 5-1 on Saturday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.  Tega Ikoba scored the lone goal in the loss.  The Timbers are 10th in the West with three points

World Baseball Classic Recap

The United States clinched a spot in the World Baseball Classic Final with a dominant 14-2 victory over Cuba at loanDepot Park in Miami.  Paul Goldschmidt got the scoring started with a two-run homer in the first inning that put the U.S. ahead 2-1.  Trea Turner homered twice and tied Goldschmidt for the team-lead with four RBI.  Adam Wainwright earned the win on the mound after allowing one earned run in four innings.  The USA will face the winner of Monday night's WBC semifinal matchup between Japan and Mexico.  Shohei Ohtani and Japan have outscored their last three opponents 26-to-6 heading into the game.  Randy Arozarena leads a Mexico team that is looking to secure its' first ever trip to the WBC Final.  
 

Ducks Challenge UCF in NIT

Oregon hosts UCF on Sunday night in the second round of the NIT Tournament.  The Ducks advanced after beating UC Irvine 84-58 in the opening round. Gonzaga is beginning its quest for an NCAA Tournament title.  The third-seeded Bulldogs play 14th-seeded Grand Canyon tonight in Denver.  Gonzaga is playing in the West Region, where Kansas is the number-one seed.  The winner of tonight's game advances to play the winner of sixth-seeded TCU and 11th-seeded Arizona State.

Trail Blazers Host Celtics Tonight

The Trail Blazers are welcoming Jayson Tatum and the Celtics to town.  Portland hosts Boston tonight at the Moda Center.  The Blazers come off a 123-107 loss to the Knicks and have dropped four straight games.  Damian Lillard returned to the lineup and scored 38 points in the loss to New York.  Lillard is listed as probable for tonight's game, while Jerami Grant is listed questionable.  Justise Winslow remains sidelined.  Portland sits at 31-and-38.  

Mariners Continue Spring Training; 0-0 Tie with Giants

The Mariners are continuing Cactus League action.  Seattle tied the San Francisco Giants 0-0 at Peoria Stadium.  The Mariners managed just five hits in the tie.  George Kirby threw three-and-a-third scoreless frames as Seattle moved to 9-7-and-2.  The M's play the San Diego Padres tonight at Peoria Stadium.  
 

Seahawks Re-Sign Drew Lock, Reportedly Add Evan Brown

The Seahawks continue to make moves in NFL free agency.  Seattle re-signed quarterback Drew Lock to a one-year deal reportedly worth four-million dollars.  Lock will return alongside starter Geno Smith, who also re-signed with the Seahawks this offseason.  Seattle also reportedly signed offensive lineman Evan Brown to a one-year deal.  The Seahawks officially signed Dre'Mont Jones and Jarran Reed on Thursday.  
 

Kraken Beat Sharks

The Kraken snapped their three-game losing skid.  Seattle defeated the Sharks 2-1 in overtime in San Jose.  Vince Dunn scored the game-winning goal in OT with his 13th score of the season.  Oliver Bjorkstrand helped tie the game in the third period after the teams were scoreless through two periods.  Seattle improved to 38-23-and-7 and is fourth in the Pacific Division with 83 points.  The Kraken host the Edmonton Oilers tomorrow afternoon.  

Prep Baseball & Softball Recap

Yesterday many games were canceled due to inclement weather, however, we do have more games on the schedule this afternoon. The Caldera baseball team is set to host Sisters and Redmond visits Putnam. Also, La Pine visits Santiam Christian. In prep softball, those same teams square off in addition to Crook County playing Culver.

Oregon Ducks Face UC Irvine in NIT

Oregon hits the court tonight as it hosts UC Irvine in the opening round in Eugene.  Guards Jermaine Couisnard and Will Richardson are both out for tonight's game due to injuries.  Gonzaga is awaiting its first-round matchup in the NCAA Tournament.  The third-seeded Bulldogs play 14th-seeded Grand Canyon on Friday night in Denver.  Gonzaga is playing in the West Region, where Kansas is the number-one seed.

Trail Blazers Lose To Knicks

The Trail Blazers suffered a fourth straight loss.  Portland fell 123-107 to the Knicks at the Moda Center.  The Blazers led by six at halftime, but were outscored in both the third and fourth quarters.  Damian Lillard returned to the lineup and scored a team-high 38 points in the loss.  Anfernee Simons chipped in with 22 points, but shot 7-of-20 from the floor.  Portland dropped to 31-and-38 and hosts the Celtics on Friday night.  
 

Report: Seahawks To Sign DT Jarran Reed

The Seahawks are bringing back a member of their defensive line.  The NFL Network reports Seattle is signing defensive tackle Jarran Reed to a two-year deal.  The contract is reportedly worth 10.8-million dollars.  Reed returns to the Seahawks are leaving the team in 2021 and played last season with the Packers.  In other team news, Seattle released defensive linemen Quinton Jefferson and Shelby Harris on Tuesday.

NCAA Tournament Field Nearly Set

The NCAA tournament field is nearly set following two of the First Four matchups going final in Dayton on Tuesday.  The day started with a pair of Number-16 seeds clashing in a close game as Texas A-and-M Corpus Christi edged Southeast Missouri State 75-71.  The Islanders will play top-ranked Alabama in the first round of the tournament on Thursday.  The second game featured two 11-seeds as Pitt squeaked by Mississippi State 60-59.  The Panthers will play sixth-seeded Iowa State in the opening round on Friday.  The First Four finishes Wednesday night when 16-seeds Fairleigh Dickinson and Texas Southern square off in the first matchup.  Game two will pit 11-seeds Nevada and Arizona State against each other for a spot in the tournament.
 

High School Basketball Tournament Recap

The Summit boys fell to Wilsonville in the 5A State Championship 43-36. Junior Collin Moore scored 16 points in the loss. Elsewhere, at the 4A boys tournament in Forest Grove, the Crook County boys defeated Marist 52-47 in the consolation finals to claim a 4th-place trophy. Edward Freauff notched 19 points and 17 boards. Tualatin won the 6A boys title and Cascade repeated as champions in the 4A. For the girl’s Clackamas earned the 6A trophy and Baker took the 4A hardware.

NCAA Men's Tournament Bracket Unveiled

The bracket for the N-C-double-A men's basketball tournament is out.  Sunday's selection show revealed the 68 teams that will compete for the national title, starting Tuesday with a couple of First Four matchups in Dayton, Ohio.  Gonzaga is the third seed in the West Region and will be playing Grand Canyon on Friday night in Denver.  Oregon missed the NCAA Tournament, but will be playing in the NIT Tournament.  The Ducks play UC Irvine on Wednesday night.  The same goes for Washington State, which plays Eastern Washington tomorrow night.  

Oregon Ducks Baseball Loses UCLA Series

Oregon lost two of three against 13th-ranked UCLA over the weekend, including a 16-0 loss yesterday. Meantime the Beavers baseball club also dropped a pair against Washington State. The Beavs are now 11-4 on the year. They’ll play Nevada tomorrow.

Trail Blazers Lose To Pelicans

The Trail Blazers suffered a third straight loss.  Portland fell 127-110 to the Pelicans in New Orleans.  Anfernee Simons scored a team-high 17 points and dished out four assists.  Kevin Knox the Second and Shaedon Sharpe each chipped in 14 points off the bench.  The Blazers were without Damian Lillard and trailed by as many as 39 points in the loss.  Portland dropped to 31-and-37 and host the New York Knicks tomorrow night.

MLS Roundup

The Sounders and Timbers both suffered losses over the weekend.  Seattle fell 1-0 to FC Cincinnati at TQL Stadium.  The Sounders remain with six points on the season and host Los Angeles FC on Saturday.  Elsewhere, Portland fell 2-1 to St. Louis City SC at Providence Park.  Zac McGraw scored in the third minute, but the Timbers failed to get another goal.  Portland remains with three points and visits Atlanta United on Saturday.  
 

Prep Hoops Round-Up

Yesterday the Summit boys beat North Eugene 75-53. They’ll advance to play Redmond in the semifinals after the Panthers dispatched Mountain View 62-49. Mountain View squares off with North Eugene in the consolation semifinals this morning at 9. The 4A boys tournament tips off today as Crook County battles top seed Philomath at 1:30. On the girl’s side yesterday Mountain View lost to Putnam in the consolation semifinals and their season is over. The 4A girls quarterfinals begin this afternoon as Madras takes on Baker and Crook County meets Astoria.

Ducks Face WSU in PAC 12 Tournament

The fifth-seeded Cougars play Oregon this afternoon in the quarterfinals.  The Ducks are the number-4 seed and enjoyed a first-round bye.  Oregon State had its' season come to an end.  The 11th-seeded Beavers lost to Arizona State 63-57 in Vegas. 

Shawn Kemp Suspected Of Drive-By Shooting

Former NBA All-Star Shawn Kemp is being investigated for his possible involvement in a drive-by shooting.  Police responded to reports of shots fired at a Washington state mall where two groups of people were allegedly involved in an altercation.  The groups got into two separate vehicles when one of the drivers fired several rounds at the other car.  Officers believe Kemp was either the one who fired the gun or was in the vehicle when the shots were fired.  The former Sonics player was booked into a Pierce County jail on Wednesday afternoon as police continue to investigate.

Trail Blazers Fall To Celtics

The Trail Blazers had a tough time scoring in Boston.  Portland fell 115-93 to the Celtics at the TD Garden.  The Blazers combined to shoot 36.6-percent from the field and 28.2-percent from deep.  Damian Lillard scored a team-high 27 points and dished out eight assists in the losing effort.  Jerami Grant chipped in with 13 points for Portland, which fell to 31-and-35.  The Trail Blazers visit the 76ers tomorrow night in Philadelphia.  
 

Kraken Host Senators Tonight

The Kraken are hoping to extend their winning streak to six games.  Seattle hosts the Ottawa Senators tonight at Climate Pledge Arena.  The Kraken come off a 5-2 win over the Ducks and have won five-in-a-row.  Jared McCann scored his 31st goal of the season in the victory over Anaheim.  Seattle improved to 37-21-and-6 and is third in the Pacific Division with 80 points.  Jordan Eberle leads the team with 51 points this season.  

Prep Hoops Round Up

The top seeded Summit boys beat Canby 75-40 to advance to the elite 8. Mountain View will join them at Gill Coliseum after beating Ashland 65-51. Redmond dispatched South Albany 63-53. Bend fell to North Eugene 67-51 and their season is over. In the 4A bracket, Crook County is headed to the tournament after beating Stayton 56-52. Madras fell to Baker 90-46. On the girls side, Mountain View is headed to the dance as they beat Lebanon 53-48. They’ll play Springfield on Thursday in the quarterfinals. Ridgeview lost to the Millers 50-34. Also, the Summit girls lost to Crescent Valley 50-19. In the 4A girls bracket, Madras advanced after defeating Cascade 50-41 and Crook County edged La Grande 39-38.

College Basketball Recap

On the college hardwood, yesterday Washington State claimed the PAC 12 women's tournament title. The 7-seed Cougars beat UCLA 65-61 in the championship game. Meanwhile, at the WCC tournament today top seed Gonzaga women battle BYU while Portland meets Pacific. On the men’s side, Saint Mary’s plays BYU and Gonzaga challenges San Francisco. Watch the men duke it out on ESPN.

Mariners Continue Spring Training

The Mariners are continuing Cactus League action.  Seattle beat the Milwaukee Brewers 6-1 at American Family Fields of Phoenix.  Jarred Kelenic hit his fourth home run of the spring in the victory.  Chris Flexen earned the win after tossing three scoreless frames.  Seattle improved to 5-and-5.  The M's play the Chicago Cubs this afternoon in Peoria.  

Winterhawks Snap Losing Streak

On the ice yesterday the Portland Winterhawks finally snapped their 9-game losing skid when they beat Everett 3-1 in front of a home crowd at the Coliseum. Portland will have most of this week off before returning to the rink on Friday when they visit Spokane. The Winterhawks are still in third place in the west with just 8 games remaining.
 

Trail Blazers Defeat Magic

The Trail Blazers snapped their three-game losing skid.  Portland defeated the Magic 122-119 in Orlando.  Damian Lillard again led the charge with 41 points, while adding nine rebounds and six assists.  The Blazers combined to shoot 28-of-32 from the free throw line.  Jerami Grant chipped in with 20 points and seven assists for Portland, which improved to 30-and-34.  The Trail Blazers visit the Pistons tonight in Detroit.

Prep Hoops Round-Up

Last night Trinity Lutheran lost to Crane in the 1A quarterfinal 68-54. The Saints will play Adrian in the consolation semis this morning at 8am. Also tonight is the opening round for the 5A girls as 8 seed Mountain View hosts Lebanon. Also 11th ranked Summit visits Crescent Valley and 16 seed Ridgeview meets top ranked Springfield. In the 4A tonight Madras visits Cascade and Crook County travels to La Grande. Tomorrow the boys hit the hardwood as top ranked Summit welcomes Canby and number four Redmond meets South Albany. 5th ranked Mountain View battles Ashland and Bend takes on North Eugene.

College Basketball Recap

Yesterday's action continued in Las Vegas for the PAC 12 women’s tournament the Oregon Lady Ducks lost to Stanford 76-65. And Oregon State fell to Colorado 62-54. In the semifinals today UCLA challenges Stanford while Colorado prepares for Washington State. In the WCC tournament the Portland men defeated San Diego 92-74. They’ll advance to play BYU today at 6. The Oregon men thrashed Cal 84-51 in regular-season action. The Beavers got crushed by Stanford 83-60.

Beavers Baseball Pick Up 7th Straight Win

Yesterday on the diamond the Oregon State Beavers baseball club extended their winning streak to 7 games when they beat Cal Poly 5-4. They’ll play the Mustangs again today at 6. Meantime Oregon outlasted San Diego 3-2. They are back in action today at 3.

Trail Blazers Visit Hawks Tonight

The Trail Blazers are looking to bounce back as they hit the road.  Portland takes on the Hawks tonight in Atlanta.  The Blazers come off a 121-110 loss to the Pelicans and have dropped four of their last five games.  Damian Lillard scored 41 points in the loss to New Orleans.  Anfernee Simons is listed as doubtful for tonight's game, while Jusuf Nurkic, Justise Winslow and Ryan Arcidiacono are all listed out.  Portland comes in at 29-and-33.  

Kraken Beat Red Wings In Overtime

The Kraken picked up another win on the road.  Seattle beat the Red Wings 5-4 in overtime in Detroit.  Oliver Bjorkstrand netted the game-winner in OT and finished with a pair of goals in the victory.  Jared McCann also added two goals, while Jaden Schwartz lit the lamp in the second period.  The Kraken improved to 34-21-and-6 and are tied for third in the Pacific Division with 74 points.  Seattle visits the Columbus Blue Jackets tonight.

PAC 12 Women's Basketball Tournament Tips Off Today

The PAC 12 Women's Basketball Tournament begins today. At noon Arizona State battles UCLA before 9 seed Oregon meets #8 Washington at 2:30. Later Cal challenges Washington State while the 11-seed Lady Beavers play USC. Meantime the West Coast Conference tournaments begin tomorrow.

Trail Blazers Blow 17-Point Halftime In Loss To Warriors

The Trail Blazers blew a 17-point halftime lead as they lost to the Warriors 123-105 in San Francisco.  Portland impressed in the first half, but was outscored 39-to-17 in the third quarter and trailed the rest of the way.  Damian Lillard paced the Blazers with 25 points, but shot 9-of-21 from the field.  Portland has lost three of four to fall to 29-and-32.  The Trail Blazers return home to host the New Orleans Pelicans tonight.  

Falcons Release Marcus Mariota

The Falcons released Marcus Mariota, the team announced Tuesday morning. Mariota — the former Oregon star and Heisman trophy winner — threw for 2,219 yards, with 15 touchdown passes and nine interceptions with a 61.3 completion percentage. Starting for the first time since the 2019 season, Mariota posted a 5-8 record in 13 games.

Kraken Beat Blues

The Kraken snapped their three-game losing skid.  Seattle beat the Blues 5-3 in St. Louis.  Morgan Geekie scored a pair of goals in the victory, including the go-ahead score in the second period.  Jared McCann, Jamie Oleksiak and Brandon Tanev also lit the lamp.  The Kraken improved to 33-21-and-6 and is tied for third in the Pacific Division with 72 points.  Seattle visits the Detroit Red Wings tomorrow night.

The Mariners are continuing Cactus League action.  Seattle edged the Cleveland Guardians 9-8 at Peoria Stadium.  Teoscar Hernandez, Ty France and Jake Anchia all went deep in the victory.  Blake Weiman earned the win in relief.  Seattle improved to 2-and-3.  The M's play the Chicago Cubs this afternoon in Mesa.  

 

The Giants and Athletics are continuing Cactus League action.  San Francisco lost to the Padres 7-5 at Scottsdale Stadium.  Joey Bart homered as the Giants dropped to 2-and-2.  San Francisco plays the Diamondbacks this afternoon in Scottsdale.  Meanwhile, Oakland lost to the Angels 11-5 at Hohokam Stadium.  Jace Peterson homered as the A's improved to 2-and-2.  Oakland plays the Reds this afternoon in Goodyear.
