Ducks Double-Up on the Beavs

College Baseball:

Number 6 Oregon continued their season dominance over number 7 Oregon State to win their 4th straight over the Beavs after last night’s 8 - 4 win in Corvallis in front of a huge crowd of 4-thousand 84. Ducks Infielder Ryan Cooney went 2 for 4 with a homerun and 3 RBI. The Beavers Gavin Turley hit his team-leading 15th homer. Next up the Ducks go to East Lansing for a weekend series against Michigan State.

OSU has a 4-game series at Hawaii starting Friday.

 

College Football:

Broadcast information and kickoff times for eight of Oregon State football's 12 games have been announced in coordination with the Pac-12 Conference. There are seven games at Reser Stadium and the regular season finale at Washington State. Games against California and Houston will be broadcast on ESPN, the Nov. 1 matchup against Washington State will air on CBS and the additional five games will be televised on The CW.

Oregon State opens the season on Aug. 30 against California, hosting the Golden Bears at Reser Stadium on ESPN.

 

College Softball: 

Oregon moved up to number 3 in both polls as they head into the final weekend of Regular season play.

 

MLB:

The Giants fell 7 - 4 to San Diego yesterday. The series finishes up at 1:10 this afternoon. 

Seattle beat the Angels 5 - 3 last night. It’s also a quick series that finishes up today at 1:10.

Beaver WBB Signs Transfer F Jacobs

College Baseball:

Oregon’s sweep of Oregon State earned a number 6 ranking by D1baseball.com and Perfect Game, 10th in the coaches poll, 12 by Baseball America and 19th in the writer’s poll.

 

The Beavers fell to Number 7 in the D1Baseball Top 25, 10th in the Perfect Game poll, 12th by the coaches… 16th in the Baseball America Top 25, but the Writers did keep them at number 3.

 

Oregon State returns home for a single matchup with Oregon tonight at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field. First pitch is slated for 5:35.

OSU Basketball:

The Oregon State women's basketball team announced the signing of Fresno State forward Mia Jacobs on Monday. Jacobs - who originally committed to Oregon - averaged over 18 points and 10 rebounds per game for the Bulldogs last season.

 

College Softball: 

Number 5 Oregon beat Notre Dame yesterday.

 

MLB:

Seattle has the Los Angeles Angels visiting tonight. It’s the start of a string of division games over the next eight days. This is just a two game series against the Halos. First pitch tonight is 6:40

 

The Giants have a quick road trip down to San Diego, trying to put some distance from the Padres in the bunched up division after the first month. First pitch at 6:40 


 

 

Timbers Beat Galaxy On Road

NFL DRAFT:

Ducks quarterback Dillon Gabriel will be in a big battle for a roster spot in Cleveland as he was the other quarterback drafted by the Browns before the much-hyped Shadeur Sanders. Receiver Tez Johnson was the 10th Duck to round out the record setting class of Oregon players when was picked by Tampa Bay in the 7th round.

College Baseball:

Number 13 Oregon got a sweep of Number 3 Oregon State in Eugene over the weekend. It’s the first ever sweep of a top-3 opponent for the Ducks. The rivalry series continues in Corvallis tomorrow.

 

MLB:

Seattle won their series against the Marlins holding on for a win yesterday a day after tying the team record for largest margin in a shutout plating 14 runs. The Angels visit tomorrow.

The Giants got back to back 3- 2 wins to get the series from the Rangers. Next up is a trip to San Diego starting tomorrow. 

 

College Softball: 

Number 5 Oregon is at Notre Dame today after sweeping Indiana over the weekend.
Oregon State was swept by St Mary’s in 3 games. 

 

Soccer:

The Timbers wrapped up their season series with the Galaxy Sunday, beating them 4-2. David Da Costa, Santiago Moreno, Kevin Kelsy and Jonathan Rodriguez found the back of the net for Portland in the victory.

Five-Star OT Greene Flips From UW to UO

SPORTS 4-25-25 

NFL DRAFT:

Ducks defensive lineman Derrick Harmon will go from Green and Yellow to Black and Yellow after being taken at the 21st pick by the Pittsburgh Steelers. Offensive lineman Josh Conerly Jr. was selected 29th Overall by the Washington Commanders. Star quarterback Dillon Gabriel and receiver Tez Johnson may have their names called tonight.

 

Five-star offensive lineman Kodi Greene flipped his commitment from Oregon to Washington on Thursday.  Greene is the number 22 overall player in the class of 2026, according to 247Sports composite rankings.

MLB:

Seattle scored 2 runs in each of the first two innings yesterday and hung on to win 4 - 3 to get the series win over Boston. Now the Mariners are back home to face Miami. First pitch against the Marlins from T - Mobile Park is at 6:40.

 

The Giants benefitted from a late inning miscue and won the 4-game series against Milwaukee with a 6 - 5 win yesterday. Next up is a weekend visit from the Rangers. Game 1 starts at 7:15 tonight.

Number 3 Oregon State is in Eugene to start a series against Number 13 Oregon. First pitch from PK Park is at 5.

 

College Softball: 

Number 5 Oregon is at Indiana at 3 today.
Oregon State has a double header tomorrow against St Mary’s.

 

Local: 

The 2025 Oregon State U-S Bowling Congress Open Championship Tournament is at Lava Lanes in Bend, starting April 26th. Nearly 

1,000 bowlers from across the state will compete over the next seven weekends, making it one of Oregon's largest amateur sporting events. Spectators can watch for free.

 

Oregon Football Spring Game is Saturday

NFL DRAFT:

Ducks offensive lineman Josh Conerly Jr. and defensive lineman Derrick Harmon are projected to have their names called later tonight during round 1. Star quarterback Dillon Gabriel and receiver Tez Johnson are also likely to be chosen at some point. Various reports and mock drafts show 10 or more Oregon players selected by teams through this weekend. That would break the record for the 8 players picked last year.

MLB:

Shortstop J P Crawford homered and had 4 RBI as the Mariners got an 8 - 5 win in Boston yesterday in Game 2, setting up the rubber match for the 3-game series today. First pitch against the Red Sox is this morning at 10:35.

The Giants beat Milwaukee 4 - 2 last night, with both the Brewers runs coming in the 9th inning. San Francisco goes for the 4 game series win today at 12:45.

 

College Baseball:

Number 3 Oregon State goes to Eugene tomorrow to start a series against Number 13 Oregon. Beavers infielder Aiva Arquette was named the Golden Spikes Player of the Week by USA Baseball. That’s back to back weeks for Arquette…after getting the baseball writer’s Player award last week.


 

 

Women's Sports Complex Groundbreaking

College Baseball:

Number 3 Oregon State wrapped its early week series with Gonzaga yesterday afternoon winning 8 - 3 and running the win streak to 12.

The Portland Thorns whipped Gotham FC 4 - 1 last night.

 

WNBA:

The owners of Portland's new WNBA team have broken ground on a new Women's dual-sport performance facility. They say it's the first facility in the world dedicated to both a professional women's soccer team and professional women's basketball team.  RAJ Sports owns both the Portland Thorns soccer team and the new WNBA franchise.  The 150-million-dollar training center will sit on 12 acres in Hillsboro.  The WNBA team, which has yet to be named, will start playing next year.

 

Local: 

Crook County High School has received this year’s Oregon Athletic Coaches Association 4A All-Sports Award…recognizing the Cowboys and Cowgirls as the top-performing 4A high school in the state across all athletic seasons. 

 

Staying in Prineville…The Adaptive Golf Project, an initiative to open the game to individuals with mobility challenges. A stand-up adaptive golf cart will arrive in June and be housed and maintained at Meadow Lakes Golf Course


 

Oregon State FB Adds Game Against Montana

College Baseball:
It’s now an 11-game win streak for the Beavers after a walk off single in the bottom of the 12th gave them a 4 - 3 win over Gonzaga. Oregon State moved up in the rankings with a number three in the D1 Baseball dot com, Writers, and Coaches poll. They are number 4 in Perfect Game and number 6 in Baseball America. OSU’s two game series with the Zags finishes this afternoon. First pitch is slated for 2:05


Oregon is 13th in D1 Baseball and Perfect Game, 16th in the Coaches poll, 20th in Baseball America and the Writers’ rank them 21st. Also Mason Neville, the Ducks’ home run record holder. was named the Big 10 Player of the Week, and Grayson Grinsell is the Big 10 pitcher of the week. The U of O has Portland at PK Park today at 5:05


Softball:
The Ducks Lyndsey Grein was named Big Ten Pitcher of the Week on Monday.

The Oregon State football team announced that it will play Montana at home on September 19, 2026. The Beavers are 12-2-and-2 all-time against the Grizzlies, though the teams have not played since 1996.


MLB:
The Giants took game 1 of their series with Milwaukee winning 5 -2. Game 2 of the series is tonight starting at 6:45.
The Mariners have won 8 of their last 10 to run their record to 12 - 10. Now the road trip is in Boston. First pitch against the Red Sox is at 3:45.


NBA:
The Trail Blazers will likely pick in the 10th or 11th spot in June’s NBA Draft. They lost a lottery tiebreaker to the Phoenix Suns yesterday who have the 9th spot. Portland has odds of less than 5-percent to get into the Top 3 of the Draft.

College Baseball:

Number 6 Oregon State is on a 10-game win streak after a sweep of Cal State Northridge. The Beavers Gavin Turley also became the team’s all-time home run leader. OSU has two games with Gonzaga tonight and tomorrow. First pitch is slated for 5:35

Number 16 Oregon used a late rally to defeat number 10 UCLA yesterday and get a series win over the Bruins

 

Softball: 

The Beavers got a West Coast conference series win over San Diego.

The Ducks got a win yesterday to take the series over UCLA and take over 1st place in the Big 10.

James Madison transfer cornerback Tyjai Hopper announced his commitment to Oregon State on Sunday.  Hopper - a three-star prospect in the class of 2023 - did not record a stat in two seasons with the Dukes.

 

MLB:

Oregon State is playing in its annual Spring Game tomorrow… slated for a noon start from Reser Stadium.

Ducks CB Pleasant To Transfer

MLB:

The Mariners got a 5 - 3 win in Cincinnati yesterday in Game 2 of the three game series. Cal Raleigh hit two homeruns. Breakfast baseball this morning! First pitch at 9:40.

The Giants pounded out 13 hits with no home runs to beat Philadelphia 11 - 4 yesterday in Game three of the four-game series. Mike Yastzemski went 2 for 4 with 2 walks and 2 RBI. San Francisco goes for the 4 game series win today at 1.

 

College Baseball:

Number 6 Oregon State is on a seven-game win streak and 27- 7 overall. The Beavers start a series with Cal State Northridge today. First pitch is slated for 5:3

 

Oregon Football:

 

Oregon cornerback Rodrick Pleasant entered the transfer portal after two seasons with the team. Pleasant had five total tackles and a forced fumble as a Duck.

 

NBA: 

The Oregonian reports Portland Trail Blazers coach Chauncey Billups got an additional two years on his original five-year contract, but not how much it’s worth. The team announced a multi-year extension on Sunday. But now we know the fifth year of the deal has been picked up and Billups is signed to coach through the 2027- 28 season.

Oregon State beats UCLA

College Baseball:

Number 6 Oregon State took out number 10 UCLA 7 - 1 last night. Also yesterday infielder Aiva Arquette was named the National Player of the Week, by the Baseball Writers Association. Arquette went 9-for-18 in helping lead the Beavers to a 4-0 record last week. The Beavers start a series with Cal State Northridge tomorrow.

 

Softball: 

Oregon State hosts number 5 Oregon today at 6 in the rubber match of the rivalry series.

NBA: 

Offseason decisions for Portland to start looking at will be trading Jerami Grant and his huge contract. Credit to NMZ Hoops on x for pointing out Grant has not played a game past March 12th in the past Three seasons.



 

Mariners To Begin Road Series Against Reds

College Baseball:

Oregon defeated Georgetown yesterday 12 - 1 in 7 innings. The Ducks are 16th in D1 Baseball, 17th in the Writers Poll, 18th in the Coaches and number 25 in Baseball America.

Oregon State moved up to number 6 in the rankings for the Writers, Coaches, and D1 baseball dot com polls. Perfect Game has them 7th and  Baseball America ranks them 9th. The Beavers swept Cal State Fullerton over the weekend and now play UCLA today at 6.

 

Softball: 

Oregon State shutout Montana yesterday. The Beavers face Oregon tomorrow. The Ducks are ranked in the top 10 in the country and are tied for first place in the Big 10.

Blazers End Season With Win Over Lakers

NBA:  

Portland went out a winner against the Lakers yesterday the 109 - 81 final means the Blazers finish 35 and 46 with their odds at the top overall pick at 3.75%. Their chances at the Top 4 are 17.1%. Earlier yesterday, General Manager Joe Cronin announced head coach Chauncey Billups signed a multi-year contract extension to return to the team. Billups is in his 4th year with the Trail Blazers. 

 

College Baseball:

Number 8 Oregon State swept Cal State Fullerton, but it was close yesterday with a narrow 9 - 8 win. The Beavers stay in Southern California to play UCLA tomorrow.

Number 15 Oregon battled the elements and the Terrapins in Maryland over the weekend but came away with a series win.

 

Softball: 

Number 4 Oregon remained red hot. The Ducks swept their fourth Big Ten series this season, holding on for the win yesterday in Minnesota.

Soccer:

The Portland Thorns netted one goal but it was all they needed against Utah.

The Portland Timbers got a big road win beating Sporting KC 4 -2 yesterday.

 

Local: 

Thousands of runners and support teams were part of yesterday’s Bend Marathon. The Boston Marathon qualifier took place for the 10th time. It included a half-marathon, 10K and 5K.

This Saturday is the 37th annual Salmon Run Half Marathon, 10K and 5K.

 

Blazers Begin Final Homestand Against Warriors

NBA:  

Portland has Game 81 of 82 tonight against Golden State. Many of the Trail Blazers stars are on the injured list. Expect a lot of touches for Toumani Camara and Donovan Clingan. Tip-off from the Moda Center is at 7.

 

College Baseball:

Number 8 Oregon State is at Cal State Fullerton for a three game series. First pitch tonight is 6:35.

Number 15 Oregon is at Maryland. First pitch is at 3 this afternoon.

 

Softball: 

Number 4 Oregon is in Minnesota to start a series. First pitch is at 3.

Blazers Fall To Jazz In Overtime

NBA:  

Portland couldn’t close out the Jazz and lost in overtime last night 133 - 126. It was a struggle for the young team playing shorthanded. Shaedon Sharpe finished with a career high 37 but missed free throws late in regulation. Toumani Camara missed a gimme that might have been the game winner. The Trail Blazers’ loss does technically help their draft lottery chances. Game 81 of 82 is tomorrow against Golden State.

Hot Rumor: Recently fired Nuggets Coach Michael Malone is a very attractive candidate for next season. The Blazers front office needs to make a decision whether they want to stay the course with Chauncey Billups at the helm. He’s in the final year of his contract.

 

MLB:

The Mariners Julio Rodriguez tied the game in the 9th with a double and walk off base on balls sealed the series win over Houston  yesterday. The Mariners are on the road at Texas starting tomorrow. 

San Francisco had a huge rally to take down Cincinnati and avoid the sweep yesterday. Mike Yastrzemski’s homer in the 10th sent the Giants on the road winners at Oracle park. Now its a weekend series with the Yankees in New York tomorrow.

 

Local: 

The great Northwest national BMX Racing event is tomorrow through Sunday at the Deschutes County Fairgrounds in Redmond ….It is free for spectators!

Blazers Ready for Final Regular Season Road Game

NBA:  

Portland won’t have Scoot Henderson or Jerami Grant tonight in Salt Lake City. Both are listed as Out. Deni Avdija and Anfernee Simons are Questionable but might be thought of as unlikely. Still at 16 and 33 and in full tank mode the Jazz will probably not put up much of a fight. It’s a 6 o’ clock tip-off in Utah for game number 80 of the season.

 

College Baseball:

Number 8 Oregon State got a win over Portland 10 - 6 yesterday. The Beavers go to Cal State Fullerton Friday.

 

MLB:

San Francisco was shut out 1 - 0 by Cincinnati yesterday. That’s two straight low scoring shutouts against the Reds. The Giants will try to avoid the sweep or at least score in the series finale matinee starting at 12:45

The Mariners lost 2 - 1 to Houston in 12 innings last night. The rubber match of the series is this afternoon at 1:10

Trail Blazers Sign GM Joe Cronin To Contract Extension

NBA:  

Portland extended the multi-year contract for General Manager Joe Cronin.  The Trail Blazers have greatly improved in this 4th season of Cronin’s tenure. Coach Chauncey Billups is nearing the end of his five-year contract with the team. The Blazers have three games remaining in the season starting tonight at Utah. Tip off against the Jazz is at 6.

 

College Baseball:

Oregon State climbed to Number 7 in the Perfect Game Top 25, No. 8 in the D1 Baseball poll, 9th in the USA Today Coaches Poll, 10th in the Baseball America Top 25. The Writers Poll has them 6th. 

The Beavers are at Portland today at 5:35.

Oregon’s highest ranking is 15 in the D1 Baseball and the Writer’s poll. The Coaches and Perfect Game slots them 17th, and the Baseball America Top 25 has them 23rd.

 

Softball: 

Number 8 ranked Oregon lost to Loyola Marymount yesterday.

Trail Blazers Defeat Spurs At Home

NBA:  

The Trail Blazers got a 120 - 109 win over San Antonio yesterday for their 35th win of the season. With many players out with injury, Toumani Camara stepped up to lead all scorers with 23. The second year forward added 10 rebounds to finish with a double double. Shaedon Sharped had a double double with 21 points and 10 boards, too. 

Portland’s win does give the Spurs better odds to get a higher draft pick this June.

Fans on social media expressed frustration about the team’s end-of-season losing…and winning the wrong games.

This is the final week of the regular season with the last road game Wednesday at Utah.

 

College Baseball:

In the rubber match of a Top-25 series Number 11 Oregon State got a 7 - 4 win yesterday over number 12 UC Irvine for a series win at Goss Stadium. The Beavers are at Portland tomorrow.

Number 12 Oregon’s rally attempt in the 9th came up short in a 12 - 11 loss yesterday. But the Ducks got the series win over Michigan.

 

Softball: 

The number 5 ranked Oregon team also had the Wolverines as the visitors this weekend. The Ducks won games on a walk-off and a run-rule Saturday to sweep Michigan. Loyola Marymount is at Jane Sanders stadium today

Trail Blazers Defeat Raptors

NBA:  

The Trail Blazers held off Toronto yesterday. The 112 - 103 win keeps Portland from being mathematically eliminated from playoff contention. It was another monster game for Shaedon Sharpe with a long stat line topped with 36 points to lead all scorers. Deni Avdija also turned in another solid effort in the win with a 26 point, 15 rebound double double. There are some decent pieces on this young squad. Next up is Chicago today. Tip-off at 5.

 

College Baseball:

Number 11 Oregon State welcomes number 12 UC Irvine for a series at Goss Stadium starting today at 5:35

Number 12 Oregon starts a series with Michigan visiting Eugene today. First Pitch at 5:35

 

Softball: 

The number 5 ranked Oregon softball team also has the Wolverines as the visitors. First pitch at 6.

OSU Softball has Loyola Marymount at Kelly Field for a Double Header tomorrow.

 

MLB:

The Mariners are in San Francisco for a weekend series against the Giants who are off to a hot start at 5 - 1. Justin Verlander goes against Seattle and Luis Castillo. It’s a Friday matinee for the home opener at Oracle Park. First pitch is at 1:35 today.

Trail Blazers Visit Raptors Today

NBA:  

The Trail Blazers are in Toronto today. Scoot Henderson is out with a concussion. Anfernee Simons is questionable with a bruised elbow. Tip off against the Raptors is at 4:30. This game is pretty much a must win to stay alive for the post season.

 

College Baseball:

[Oregon State slid in the rankings after dropping two games against Nebraska last weekend. D1Baseball and the Coaches poll has them 11th, Baseball America slots them 12th, Perfect Game it's 13th.]

Number 12 Oregon got upset by Portland yesterday with the Pilots walking it off in the 9th.

 

Softball: 

The number 5 ranked Oregon Ducks took a  9 -1 win over Oregon State in  Corvallis last night.

The Mariners avoided the sweep beating Detroit 3 -2 yesterday. Seattle will go to San Francisco for a weekend series starting tomorrow.

The Giants are coming off a sweep of the Astros in Houston yesterday.

Trail Blazers Defeat Hawks

NBA:  

The Trail Blazers went off in Atlanta yesterday for a 127 - 113 win to keep their slim play in hopes alive. Shaedon Sharpe led all scorers with 33 points. Deni Avdija poured in 32 with a triple-double to help Portland snap its four game losing streak. It is on to Toronto tomorrow.

 

College Hoops:
The Oregon State Men lost to Central Florida 76 -75 yesterday in the College Basketball Crown in Las Vegas. The season ends for the Beavers.

 

College Baseball:

Number 12 Oregon plays Portland today at 5. 

 

Softball: 

The number 5 ranked Oregon Ducks play Oregon State tonight in Corvallis starting at 6.

College Hoops:
The Oregon State Men are getting ready to play in the inaugural College Basketball Crown in Las Vegas today. The Beavers tip-off against Central Florida at 2:30.

Nate Bittle, center for the Oregon men's basketball team, has declared for the 2025 NBA draft while retaining his college eligibility.

Local: 

The first season of Central Oregon Girls Flag Football begins at Summit High School on Friday. There are three local high schools competing in the local league: Summit, Crook County, and Central Christian. Summit will host the Prineville and Redmond teams at their stadium in Bend for a round robin tourney.
