Report: Blazers Signing G Love

Portland will reportedly sign guard Caleb Love after going undrafted out of Arizona. He’ll be on a two-way contract; splitting time between the team and its G-League affiliate RipCity Remix.

WNBA:

Portland's WNBA expansion franchise is reportedly firing its president, just two months after hiring her. The Oregonian reports the team recently fired president Inky Son. The team is not yet confirming the report. Son hails from South Korea and previously served as the chief administrative officer for the National Basketball Players Association. She was the first employee to be hired by the team, which is expected to join league play next year.

Portland's WNBA team starts playing next year, but it doesn't have a name yet. The WNBA filed a trademark application last week for the "Portland Fire" which is the same name as the original WNBA team that played from 2000 through 2002. This design includes a stylized "P" symbol. A date has not been set to released the team's name.

Blazers Swap With Grizzlies, Draft Hansen

SPORTS 6-26-25

NBA:

It was a surprising draft night for the Portland Trail Blazers. They traded down from pick 11 to 16, acquiring a future first-round pick and two second-rounders in the process. With the 16th pick, the Blazers made a bold move, selecting Chinese center Yang Hansen, a player many analysts projected to go much later. This adds another big man to an already crowded Blazers frontcourt. Many predict Deandre Ayton or Robert Williams will get traded. The Trail Blazers currently don’t have a pick in tonight’s 2nd round, but the day is not over yet.

Trail Blazers To Host Block Party

SPORTS 6-25-25

NBA:

The Portland Trail Blazers have the 11th pick in the 1st round of the NBA Draft tonight. The latest mock drafts show a few different directions they might go. Some have them looking at Carter Bryant, a forward, while others predict they could select Noa Essengue, another forward who's impressed overseas. There's also Collin Murray-Boyles from South Carolina, known for his defense. It appears the Blazers are focused on getting a do everything type player to their frontcourt, which could mean more moves in addition to Monday’s trade of Anfernee Simons for Jrue Holiday.

Also, yesterday forward Matisse Thybulle opted in for the final year of his three-year contract. He played just 15 games last season but is a two time all-defensive team player.

The Portland Trail Blazers are set to host an NBA Draft Block Party today. It'll be held at the Rose Quarter Commons from 4:30 to 8 p.m. The Trail Blazers have the 11th pick in the draft. There'll be music, games, and a photo booth. Fans can also enter to win raffle prizes. There will be plenty of food, snacks and drinks. Fans need to RSVP on the Trail Blazers website.
