Corvallis Regional Sold-Out

College Baseball:

All tickets for the Corvallis regional sold out as of yesterday. Oregon State is the number 8 seed in the 64-team field for the Men’s College World Series. The Beavers play against St Mary’s on Friday at 5 pm. TCU and USC start the action at noon on Friday.

 

There were many fans and media members surprised at the Beavs high seeding considering they didn’t have a conference schedule or tournament. OSU is one of just 9 schools to make the postseason every year since 2017.

 

12 seed Oregon is getting ready for Utah Valley Friday at the Eugene regional. First pitch from PK Park will be at 6 pm. Arizona, playing in their 44th tournament regional, plays Cal Poly in the first game at 1 pm.

 

The Ducks Baseball and Softball teams are part of 8 conference championships the Ducks won in their first season in the Big 10.

MLB:

The Giants lost yesterday 3 - 1 in Detroit, the same score as Monday’s loss to the Tigers. San Francisco will try to salvage the series when it wraps today starting at 10:10 our time this morning. Justin Verlander is making good progress on his rehab stint after throwing a bullpen session.

 

The first-place Mariners used two Cal Raleigh home runs to beat the Nationals 9 - 1 last night. The Big Dumper leads the American League with 19 homers. Seattle plays Washington again tonight. First pitch is at 6:40.

 

MLS:

The Timbers will take the field for a home game tonight against a Western Conference foe. Portland will try to complete a season sweep of the Rapids. The Timbers beat Colorado 3-0 on the road in March thanks to goals from Antony and Kevin Kelsy.

NCAA Baseball Tournament Field Announced

Softball: 

16th seed Oregon is headed to the Women’s College World Series for the first time since 2018. The Ducks opening game in Oklahoma City is against UCLA on Thursday.

 

College Baseball:

Oregon State is the number 8 seed in the 64 team field for the Men’s College World Series. The Beavers host the Corvallis regional opening against St Mary’s on Friday. TCU and USC are the other two teams playing Friday.

 

Oregon is the 12th seed hosting the Eugene regional. The Ducks will face Utah Valley Friday, with Arizona and Cal Poly meeting in the first game.

MLB:.

The Giants remain behind the Dodgers in 2nd place in the NL West. San Francisco lost yesterday 3 - 1 in Detroit. They’re back at it today against the Tigers starting at 3:40.

 

The first-place Mariners left Houston with only a game and a half lead over the Astros in the division. They play Washington tonight. First pitch from Seattle is at 6:40.

 

MLS:

The Timbers will play a home game tomorrow. Portland will wrap up its season series with the Rapids. The Timbers beat Colorado 3-0 in their first meeting in March behind goals from Antony and Kevin Kelsy.

Ducks Softball To Begin Supers

College Baseball:
Big 10 champion and number 4 ranked Oregon is in Omaha for the start of pool play in the conference tournament. The Ducks beat Michigan State 4 -2 yesterday. This afternoon first pitch against Nebraska is at 4. The Ducks look to make it to this weekend’s Semi-finals.


Softball: 
16th seed Oregon is preparing for their NCAA Super Regional best of three series against Liberty. Game 1 is tonight in Eugene starting at 7.

MLB:.
The Mariners couldn’t get anything going with the bats after taking an early lead and gave up a few big innings losing 9 - 2 to Houston. Julio Rodriguez was also a late scratch with back tightness.  Seattle’s loss cuts the lead over Houston to 2.5 games in the AL West. Tonight first pitch is at 5:10.


The Giants are two games behind the Dodgers in 2nd place in the NL West. San Francisco goes on a week-long road trip starting today in Washington D.C. against the Nationals starting at 3:45.


Soccer:
The Portland Timbers are on the road against Orlando City tomorrow afternoon.


Local: 
It’s Mt. Bachelor’s closing weekend with the North American Pond Skimming Championship on Sunday.

The Giants lost 8 -4 to the Royals yesterday but stay in 2nd place in the NL West. San Francisco goes on a week-long road trip starting tomorrow in Washington D.C.

The Mariners lost an early lead then came back to beat the White Sox 6 - 5 yesterday and take the series in Chicago. The Ms move on to Houston for a weekend series starting tomorrow. Seattle has a 3.5 game lead over the Astros for first place in AL West.

 

Soccer:

The Portland Thorns lost yesterday in the semi-final of their CONCACAF match.

 

Local: 

The Duck Athletic Fund has UO Head Football Coach Dan Lanning in Bend.  Coach Lanning is at Worthy Brewing later today.
 

Timbers Eliminated From US Open Cup

College Baseball:

Ducks head coach Mark Wasikowski was voted the Big 10 Baseball Coach Of The Year. Coach Was shared the credit…writing on X it should be the coaching Staff of the year.

Big 10 champion and number 4 ranked Oregon is in Omaha ahead of tomorrow’s start of pool play in the conference tournament. The Ducks play Michigan State  and Nebraska Friday.

Oregon hosts the NCAA Super Regional best of three series against Liberty on Friday.

 

Soccer:
The Timbers were ousted from the US Open Cup in the Round of 16. Portland lost to the San Jose Earthquakes 1-0 in extra time on the road. San Jose's Jack Skahan scored the lone tally in the 116th minute. The Timbers will next take the field Saturday in Florida for a regular season matchup with Orlando City SC.

 

MLB:
The Mariners suffered a 1 - 0 shutout loss to the White Sox yesterday. The Ms have the rubber match today from Chicago this morning at 11:10.

The Giants held off a late comeback attempt to secure  3 - 2 win against the Royals last night. San Francisco goes for the series win in game three today with a businessman’s special at 12:45.

 

NBA:
The Trail Blazers’ Donovan Clingan earned 2nd team all rookie honors. The center was among the top 10 in league history for rebounding and blocks for a first year player. The 7th overall pick is the first Blazer to make an all-rookie team since Damian Lillard in 2012-13. Scoot Henderson and Shaedon Sharpe came close the past two seasons but didn’t quite get the votes. All the more impressive for Clingan was his 3rd spot on the depth chart coming into last season.


 

OSU's Arquette, OU's Neville Named Golden Spikes Semifinalists

College Baseball:
Oregon State is ranked number 7 in D1Baseball Top 25 and the Coaches Poll, number 8 in the Perfect Game and Writers Poll, and number 11 in the Baseball America Top 25.

Also yesterday, Wilson Weber was named a semifinalist for the Buster Posey Award, given annually to college baseball’s top catcher.
Big 10 champion Oregon is up to number 2 in the Perfect Game ranking, 4 in the D1 poll, the coaches have them 5th, the writers and Baseball America have them 6th. Next up the Ducks face Michigan State in the conference tournament on Thursday and Nebraska Friday.

Also yesterday, Ducks got Big Ten Conference pitcher and player of the week awards. Starting pitcher Grayson Grinsell and second baseman Ryan Cooney claimed their second weekly conference honor of the season for their play over the weekend. 

Oregon State infielder Aiva Arquette and Oregon outfielder Mason Neville were named semifinalists for the Golden Spikes Award.  Former Beaver catcher Adley Rutschman is the only player to win the award for either school, doing so in 2019.  The winner will be announced before game one of the Men's College World Series finals on June 21.

Softball: 
Oregon will host an NCAA Super Regional after the come-from-behind win Sunday night in the Eugene regional. The Ducks open a best of three series against Liberty on Friday.

 

MLB:
The Mariners got a grand slam from Julio Rodriguez to beat the White Sox 5 - 1 yesterday. Th Ms are back at it today from Chicago at 4:40

The Giants couldn’t get much going last night falling 3 -1 to the Royals in San Francisco tonight. Game two of the series is tonight. First pitch at 6:45.

 

SOCCER:
The Timbers are on the road tonight to play the Earthquakes in the Round of 16 of the US Open Cup.  The teams met earlier this month in a regular season matchup, with San Jose winning 4-1.  Felipe Mora scored Portland's only goal in that matchup.

College Baseball:

Number 5 Oregon is the Big 10 champion after sweeping Iowa over the weekend. Next up the Ducks face Michigan State in the conference tournament on Thursday.

Number 7 Oregon State swept Long Beach State. That ends the regular season for the Beavers and have to look for a possible chance to host a national regional.

Oregon State shortstop Aiva Arquette and Oregon centerfielder Mason Neville are two of 25 players who were been named as a semifinalist for the Golden Spikes Award. USA Baseball announces the winner June 4th.

 

Softball: 

The Oregon softball team beat Stanford twice on Sunday, 15-5 and 10-7 to advance to the Super Regional round of the NCAA tournament. The Ducks never trailed in game one, reaching the run rule in the sixth inning. In game two, Oregon trailed 4-0 after one inning and never led until Dezianna Patmon hit a walk-off three-run homer in the bottom of the seventh inning. Oregon will play Liberty in the Super Regionals after the Flames upset top-seeded Texas A&M.

 

MLB:

The Mariners swept the Padres this weekend in San Diego to get a win in the inaugural Vedder Cup series. It’s Major League Baseball’s connection to rivalry weekend with a reference to Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder’s ties to Seattle and San Diego. Seattle maintains its first place lead and heads out on the road. They play the Chicago White Sox starting at 4:40

The Giants got a weekend sweep of the A’s at Oracle Park to keep pace in the NL West race. The Royals visit San Francisco tonight. First pitch at 6:45.

 

Soccer:

The Portland Thorns beat Houston.

The Timbers and Sounders played to a 1-1 tie in a Cascadia Cup matchup on Saturday. Albert Rusnák opened the scoring for Seattle in the 30th minute before Portland's Santiago Moreno tied things up in the 36th minute. Portland is fourth in the Western Conference with 23 points, while Seattle has 20 points and sits in sixth place.

 

Local: 

The Duck Athletic Fund will bring in UO Head Football Coach Dan Lanning to Bend this week.  Coach Lanning is at Worthy Brewing for a happy hour on Thursday.

 

NCAA Softball Tournament To Begin

College Baseball:

Number 5 Oregon smashed four home runs and had lights out pitching once again from Ace Grayson Grinsell and run-ruled in 7-innings a 10 - 0 shutout to open their series at Iowa yesterday. Game 2 against the Big 10 first place Hawkeyes is at 4 this afternoon

Number 7 Oregon State got the series opener 2 -1 thanks to Canon Reeder hitting his fifth home run of the season and the Beavers’ pitching staff holding Long Beach State to a run and two hits. Game two starts today at 5:35 from Goss Stadium at Coleman Field.

 

Softball: 

Big 10 regular season Champion, and number 4 nationally ranked Oregon is hosting an NCAA Regional for the first time in seven years....The Ducks are the 16th and final overall national seed. The Eugene Regional opens today through Sunday at Jane Sanders Stadium. Stanford plays Binghamton in the opener. Oregon and Weber State, which won the Big Sky tournament, will follow at 4:30 p.m.

 

College Men's Basketball:

The Oregon State men's basketball team announced it will take part of the Paradise Jam in the Virgin Islands this season.  The Beavers will play Evansville on November 21st in round one.  OSU previously participated in the tournament in 2018, finishing in third place.

 

MLB:
The Mariners are trying to get back on the winning track after losing two straight series. They play the Padres this weekend in San Diego. Seattle has just a half game lead for first in the AL West. First pitch from PetCo Park tonight is at 6:40

The Giants start the day four games out of first place as the so-far surprising A’s visit Oracle Park for  a weekend series. First pitch tonight is at 7:15.

 

Soccer:
The Portland Thorns are in Houston to play the Dash at 5.

The Portland Timbers have a big Cascadia Cup match against Seattle tomorrow evening at Providence Park.

Nike's Knight Not Interested In Buying Blazers

College Baseball:

Number 5 Oregon is at Iowa with a shot at winning the Big 10 regular season title. They’ll need to beat the Hawkeyes and get UCLA to lose this weekend.

Number 7 Oregon State finishes the regular season against Long Beach State starting today at 5:35 from Goss Stadium at Coleman Field.

 

College Softball:

Oregon softball pitcher Lyndsey Grein was named to the top 10 of the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year. Grein is 26-2 with a 1.93 ERA and 194 strikeouts this season. She is the first Duck to be named a top 10 finalist for the award since Cheridan Hawkins in 2015.

 

NBA:
The Trail Blazers will not be owned by Phil Knight as he apparently no longer has interest in buying them. Nike issued a statement yesterday  following fan and media speculation over who might be interested in buying the franchise. I couldn’t find any other serious potential buyers who have stated interest in owning the Blazers.

 

MLB:

The Giants were edged 8 - 7 against Arizona yesterday. The Diamond Backs are keeping pace with San Francisco who are just a few games behind LA and the Padres in the NL West. The A’s visit tomorrow.

The Mariners lost an early lead and fell  3 - 2 in the series finale with the Yankees at T-Mobile yesterday. The team packs for a road trip now… heading south for a weekend series in San Diego tomorrow.

 

Soccer:

The Portland Timbers outshot Real Salt Lake but didn’t have all that many solid opportunities in a scoreless draw last night.

 

NFL:
The full 2025 season schedule was released yesterday.

The Seahawks open against the 49ers at Lumen Field. They play four prime-time games—two on Thursday, one Monday and one Sunday Night. Seattle will have four 10 a.m. Pacific Time kickoffs to contend with. Week 8 is bye.

San Francisco has 4 primetime matchups - 2 on Monday, 1 Sunday Night and 1 Thursday. Regular season Kick-off in Seattle is September 7th.

Trailblazers are Up For Sale

College Baseball:

Number 7 Oregon State bested Portland 5 - 3 at Goss Stadium last night. Also yesterday the Baseball Writers named catcher Wilson Weber the National Player of The week for his 4 homers, 12 RBI and .471 average over four games last week.

NBA:
The fall-out from the Trail Blazers announcing they’re up for sale has been interesting to watch on Social Media. And a little scary for die-hard fans who fear the team could move. Fans from Seattle, Kansas City, Las Vegas and elsewhere want the Blazers to relocate. Many Portland fans are looking to Nike’s Phil Knight to step in. The prominent Oregon Ducks donor was reportedly rebuffed in previous attempts to buy the franchise. Sports business media website Sportico recently valued the Trail Blazers at 3.6 Billion-dollars.

 

MLB:

The Mariners J.P. Crawford singled in the game winning run in the bottom of the 11th and Seattle beat the Yankees 2 - 1 last night to snap their 4 game losing streak. The Ms go for the series win at 1:10 this afternoon.

 

The Giants used a few big innings to hold off Arizona 10 - 6 last night. Game three of the series is today at 12:45.

 

Soccer:

The Portland Timbers are at Real Salt Lake today at 6:30.

College Baseball polls:

Oregon State moved up to number 7 in the D1Baseball Top 25, number 9 in Perfect Game, 10th in the Coaches and Writers Polls. Baseball America has them 11th in their Top 25. Tonight the Beavers host Portland at Goss Stadium. First pitch at 6:35

Oregon jumped up to number 3 in the Perfect Game poll, stayed number 5 in D1 Baseball, the Writer’s and Coaches have them 7th, they’re 9th in Baseball America.

NBA:
The Trail Blazers backed up to the 11th spot in the NBA Draft after the ping pong balls didn’t really bounce their way in the lottery. The Blazers have been linked to some of the big rumors regarding going after Milwaukee’s Giannis Antetoukompo…which is richly ironic considering Damian Lillard’s trade to the Bucks.

 

WNBA:

Former Oregon guard Sabrina Ionescu scored a game-high 25 points as the New York Liberty beat the Japanese League's Toyota Antelopes in an exhibition game at Matthew Knight Arena. Ionescu won the Wooden Award twice in her four seasons with the Ducks. Fellow Former Duck Nyara Sabally added seven points of her own.

 

MLB:

The Giants were edged by Arizona 2 - 1 last night. Game two of the series is tonight. First pitch is at 6:45.

The Mariners dropped the first game of their series with the Yankees going down 11 - 5 last night and losing their 4th straight game. Seattle tries to snap the streak in game 2 of the series starting tonight at 6:40.

 

NFL: 

The Seattle Seahawks have announced the signings of eight of their eleven 2025 draft picks. Among the newly signed players is first-round selection Grey Zabel, a guard from North Dakota State, who participated in voluntary offseason workouts yesterday.

Other additions include Notre Dame defensive end Rylie Mills, Colorado State receiver Tory Horton, Alabama fullback Robbie Ouzts, Kansas guard Bryce Cabeldue, Miami running back Damien Martinez, Iowa tackle Mason Richman, and UNLV receiver Ricky White III. The team’s second- and third-round picks—safety Nick Emmanwori, tight end Elijah Arroyo, and quarterback Jalen Milroe—have yet to be signed.



 

NBA Draft Lottery Tonight

SPORTS 5-12-25 

College Baseball:

Number 5 Oregon won yesterday and swept out the Washington Huskies to close the regular season at PK Park. The Ducks are well positioned to win the Big 10…they’ll need to sweep number one Iowa next weekend, and have some help with UCLA losing too.

Number 10 Oregon State tied Iowa 6 - 6 in 10 innings yesterday after the bullpen couldn’t hold a late lead and the Hawkeyes evened the game at 5 after nine innings. Both teams scored a run in the extra frame but that’s all they could play because the Beavers had to make their airplane. Tomorrow, it’s a Tuesday tilt with Portland at Goss Stadium.

 

Softball: 

Big 10 regular season Champion, number 4 nationally ranked Oregon will host the first round of the NCAA tournament...The Ducks were awarded the 16th and final overall national seed. The Eugene Regional is Friday through Sunday at Jane Sanders Stadium. 

Oregon will be joined by former Pac-12 foe Stanford, Binghamton and Weber State. Binghamton, the America East Conference champions, will play the Cardinal Friday at 2 p.m. Oregon and Weber State, which won the Big Sky tournament, will follow at 4:30 p.m.

For the first time in seven years, Oregon will host an NCAA Regional.

College Football:

The Oregon football team landed a commitment from five-star class of 2026 edge rusher Richard Wesley on Saturday. Wesley chose the Ducks over offers from Ohio State and Miami, among others. Oregon has the 15th ranked 2026 recruiting class in the country, according to 247 Sports.

 

NBA:
The Trail Blazers will have Toumani Camarra representing them at today’s NBA Draft lottery.  The Blazers have the 10th best odds of landing the number one pick at three-point-seven percent. Portland has not had the top pick since selecting Greg Oden in 2007. Duke forward Cooper Flagg is expected to be the number one selection.

 

MLB:

The Giants got swept by Minnesota losing in 10 innings yesterday. Arizona visits tonight. First pitch is at 6:45.

The Mariners series winning streak came to an end against the Blue Jays by getting swept by Toronto. Now the Yankees visit starting tonight at 6:40.

 

Soccer:

The Portland Thorns played San Diego to a draw.

The Timbers got a 1 - Nil win over Sporting KC.

Softball: 

Big 10 regular season Champion, number 4 nationally ranked, top seeded Oregon was shut out yesterday and bounced out of the Conference tournament. The 5-0 loss to Michigan was just the second time all season the Ducks didn’t score a run. Now the Ducks have to hope the regular season record will allow them to host the first round of the NCAA tournament...or if they have to go on the road for Regionals.

Oregon State is On a four-game winning streak, as they head into the final series of 2025 this weekend against Santa Clara. First pitch for game one of the double header today is at 4.

 

NBA:
The Trail Blazers held more pre-draft workouts yesterday. Kentucky’s 6 '5 guard Otega Oweh was among the stand-out names who appeared in front of the Blazers front office and coaching staff. The Draft combine is next week.

 

MLB:

The Red Hot Mariners enter the day with a three game lead in the division as they are back home at T-Mobile Park tonight to start a series against Toronto. First pitch is at  6:40

The Giants are a game and half behind the Dodgers in the NL West heading into Minnesota for a weekend series with a Twins team two games below .500. First pitch today is at 5:10.

Duck Softball To Play Michigan In Big Ten Tournament

College Baseball:
Last night number 5 Oregon used a 6-run 6th inning to beat St Mary’s 8 - 1 to get the mid-week sweep of the Gaels. Back to Big 10 action tomorrow when Washington visits.

 

Softball: 
The Big 10 regular season Champion and number 4 nationally ranked Oregon has the Conference tournament starting today. The top-seeded Ducks will play Michigan at 1:30 today.

The Trail Blazers will have second-year forward Toumani Camara represent the team at the NBA Draft lottery selection coming this Monday. The Blazers have a less than 4-percent chance of scoring the number one pick.

 

MLB:
Seattle beat the As 6 - 5 yesterday…. The Mariners win another series and extend their division lead. It’s back home to T-Mobile Park tomorrow against Toronto.

The Giants beat the Cubs 3 - 1 to win the series yesterday. Next up San Francisco goes to Minnesota for a weekend series with the Twins starting tomorrow.

 

Local: 
Mt. Bachelor’s annual North American Pond Skimming Championships, take place on Sunday, May 25. Registration is open nowand is expected to sell out quickly. A portion of registration fees will be donated to Street Dog Hero.

100 registered skimmers in their Sunday Best have one attempt to make it across the 100-foot long pond, located just below the West Village Lodge deck.. A panel of local celebrity judges will determine the winners

Timbers Advance Past Tacoma In US Open Cup

College Baseball:
Last night number 5 Oregon got by St Mary’s 6 - 3 thanks to Mason Neville’s College Baseball leading 24th home run.. The Ducks host the Gaels again tonight. First pitch tonight is at 6:05.

Number 10 Oregon State cancelled their game against Portland tonight due to getting back from Hawaii so late last night.


Softball: 
The Big 10 Champion Ducks dropped in the national rankings to number 4 and number 7 in the two major polls. Oregon has the Conference tournament starting tomorrow.

 

Soccer:

The Portland Timbers scored twice after the 80th minute to beat the Tacoma Defiance in the US Open Cup Round of 32 on Tuesday.  Zac McGraw gave Portland a first half lead before Gage Guerra tied the game in the 81st minute and Kevin Kelsy won the game on a penalty kick in stoppage time.  Osaze De Rosario and Georgi Minoungou found the back of the net for Tacoma.

 

NBA:
The Trail Blazers held their first pre-draft workout yesterday. Among the six prospects at the team’s practice facility in Tualatin was 6-foot-7 forward Devon Pryor, who recently transferred to Oregon from Texas.


MLB:

Beaver MBB Signs Transfer F Olowoniyi

College Baseball rankings:
Oregon State fell to 9th in the Writers poll,  number 10 in the D1 Baseball dot com poll, 11th in the Coaches, 15th by Baseball America. The Beavers got the win in Hawaii late last night.

 

Oregon is up to number 5 in the D1 poll, 7th in the Coaches poll, 10 in the Writers poll, and in the Baseball America poll,   The Ducks are back in Eugene for a midweek series with St Mary’s. First pitch tonight is at 6:05.

College Men's Basketball
The Oregon State men's basketball team announced the signing of Southern Indiana transfer forward Stephen Olowoniyi on Monday.  Olowoniyi played 30 games for the Screaming Eagles last season, averaging nearly 14 points and seven rebounds per game.  Olowoniyi began his career at VMI.

 

NBA:
As the Trail Blazers weigh offseason options, one NBA Insider thinks the Orlando Magic could have interest in acquiring Anfernee Simons. The guard has one year remaining on his contract and could be the odd-man out in the guard heavy rotation.

 

MLB:

Softball: 

The Ducks are Big 10 Champions after winning the series against Michigan State. Next up for number 3 Oregon is the Conference tournament starting Thursday.

Oregon State finished the road portion of the 2025 season with a dominant 9-0 shut-out win over Pacific yesterday afternoon to sweep the series.

 

College Baseball:

Oregon maintained their hold on 3rd place in the conference. The number 6 ranked Ducks took care of business in East Lansing winning the series against Michigan State for its 11th series win of the season. Next up is a return to Eugene for a midweek matchup with St Mary’s.

Oregon State transfer wide receiver Jeremiah Noga has committed to Washington State.  Noga caught 23 passes for 266 yards last season, including two for 28 against the Cougars.  Noga will face his former team for the first time on November 1st in Corvallis.

 

MLB:

Seattle couldn’t quite get the sweep in Texas but they’ll take their 8th series win and improve to 20 - 13. The first place Mariners take on the surprising second-place As in…Sacramento for a series starting tonight at 7:05.

The Oregon football team received a commitment from Boise State transfer punter James Ferguson-Reynolds on Thursday.  Ferguson-Reynolds averaged 43-and-a-half yards per kick on 43 punts last season.  Ferguson-Reynolds has one year of eligibility remaining.

 

Softball: 

The number 5 Ducks play Michigan State at 6. They’re looking at securing a Big 10 Title.

Oregon State plays Pacific tomorrow.

 

MLB:

The Giants gave up an early lead and lost to Colorado 4 - 3 yesterday. That gave the Rockies just their 6th win of the season. Justin Verlander went 6 and third with no decision. First pitch for Game 2 of the 4 game set is at 7:15 tonight.

 

Seattle is in Texas for a weekend series against the Rangers. The first place Mariners look to stay hot after winning seven straight series. First pitch from Arlington is 5:05.

 

Local: 

The Bend Beer Chase is tomorrow morning starting and finishing in Drake Park…Runners will be on a route between Bend and Redmond.

Big Ten Announces WBB Opponents

College Women’s Basketball:

The Big Ten announced its conference men's basketball opponents for the upcoming season. The Ducks will play home games against Illinois, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska, Northwestern, Ohio State and Penn State. The Huskies will play home games against Illinois, Northwestern, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State, Minnesota, and Nebraska. Washington and Oregon will play a home-and-home series.

Seattle beat the Angels 9 - 3 yesterday. The Ms begin May in first place in the division with a two game lead at 18 - 12. They head to Texas for a weekend series against the Rangers starting tomorrow. The Mariners PR department notes the last time the team won seven series in a row was in 2022. The 14 - 4 record is the best in the majors in the last 18 games.

 

The Giants fell to San Diego again,  going down 5 - 3 yesterday. San Francisco slips behind the Padres and the Dodgers in the NL West now. But Colorado…the worst team in baseball at 5 - 25 visits tonight to start a 4 game series. First pitch is at 6:45

 

NBA:

The Portland Trail Blazers are parting ways with assistant coaches Roy Rogers, Chris Fleming and Ryan Gomes. The Oregonian/OregonLive reports the team won’t renew the contracts. The team will continue to evaluate staff and players ahead of next month’s Draft. 

 

Also, the NBA revealed voting for the Most Improved Player award. Blazers forwards Deni Avdija and Toumani Camara both got votes.
