(Renton, WA)  --  Will they or won't they?  The Seahawks could be buyers before today's 1 p.m. local trade deadline.  The Seattle Times suggests the team could go out and bolster the offense with the likes of Austin Hooper or Robby Anderson to help Russell Wilson make a playoff drive in the second half.  The team already bolstered it's secondary last week with the acquisition of Quandre Diggs from Detroit and is reportedly fielding calls about Rashaad Penny.

(Corvallis, OR)  --  The Beavers will tip off against Warner Pacific in their final preseason tilt before the regular season tonight at home.  The team will start their regular season November 5th in Corvallis against Cal State Northridge.

(Renton, WA)  --  The 'Hawks are definitely in search of a new center as Justin Britt has been ruled out for the rest of the season.  Head coach Pete Carroll said Monday Britt will have season ending surgery to repair a torn ACL in his left knee.  Recovery typically takes eight to 12 months, which could put him out into next season.

(Seattle, WA)  --  The season may be over, but the moves aren't.  With the deadline for players coming off the 60 day injured list looming for the Mariners, the team sent Ryon Healy and pitchers Chasen Bradford and Connor Sadzeck to Triple-A Tacoma, removing them from the 40-man roster.  Healy underwent hip surgery in August.  He played 47 games and hit .237.  Players cannot be recalled to the Majors until being re-added to the 40-man roster.

(Eugene, OR)  -- Oregon's Minyon Moore, a grad transfer from USC, is among the 20 players named to the preseason watch list for the Ann Meyers Drysdale Award, awarded annually to the nation's top shooting guard.  She averaged 14-point-8 points, 5-point-9 assists, 5-point-5 rebounds and 2-point-6 assists last year as a senior with the Trojans.  She came to Ducks to create potentially the best back court in the nation with Sabrina Ionescu.

(Portland, OR)  --  The Blazers will open up the NBA season this week when they take on the Nuggets at the new-look Moda Center Wednesday night.  New-look may be a misnomer, as it's almost an old-look with the 1970s-style court to go with the iconic throwbacks the team will be wearing, honoring the team's 1977 championship-winning team.  Portland will be in Sacramento Friday to face the Kings before visiting Dallas Sunday to face the Mavs.

(Eugene, OR)  --  A redshirt freshman is away from the program and his future is unclear.  Reserve receiver JJ Tucker, who has not played this season, posted on Instagram over the weekend a photo with a caption "My farewells."  Several players believe he's leaving the team.  However, coach Mario Cristobal says, "There is no guarantee he'll be on the team or off the team yet."  Number-13 Oregon will host Cal Saturday at Autzen Stadium.

(Portland, OR)  --  The Timbers control their own destiny Sunday.  They will face off with San Jose at Providence Park with a chance to punch their playoff ticket.  If they can earn a win or draw, sixth-seeded Portland will clinch a spot in the postseason and eliminate the Quakes, who are two points behind them in eighth.  However, a loss will force them to rely on outside forces.  FC Dallas is a point behind the Tims entering the final weekend in the seventh and final playoff spot.  Portland has 46 points through 33 matches.

(Corvallis, OR)  --  After falling short this past weekend against Stanford, Oregon State will visit UCLA Saturday.  The Beavers are 1-and-3 while the Bruins are 1-and-4.

(Seattle, WA)  --  While many schools in California are preparing to deal with new regulations governing payment to athletes, Chris Peterson is happy he doesn't have to worry about it.  U-Dub's head coach said such schools would have an advantage in recruiting.  California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed the Fair Pay to Play Act into law Monday.  Beginning in 2023, it will be illegal in California for universities to prohibit their student-athletes from profiting off their name and likeness, including jersey sales and autographs.

(Palm Springs, CA)  --  The Seattle NHL franchise has been granted the American Hockey League's 32nd club, which will begin play in 2021 in Palm Springs, California.  The 250-million-dollar project was announced early this week and will begin the same season as the Seattle club.  Tim Leiweke, CEO of Oak View Group, says the new arena in Southern California will host sports and music events and will seat 10-thousand fans.

(Seattle, WA)  --  The Seahawks are gearing up for the defending division and conference champion LA Rams, who they'll face tomorrow night.  The 'Hawks beat the Cardinals on the road Sunday, moving to 3-and-1.  Los Angeles lost to the Buccaneers to fall to 3-and-1.  With the undefeated 49ers in first place, a win would greatly benefit either team in their hopes of winning the division.

Tuesday night prep volleyball sees Summit hosting South Salem. Bend is at McKay and Mt. View plays at McNary. Crook County welcomes Ridgeview. Redmond ventures to The Dalles. Madras hosts Gladstone.

(Portland, OR)  --  Damian Lillard has one goal this season: an NBA title.  At the Trail Blazer's media day Monday, the All-NBA guard acknowledged the new roster, but said the goal is the same.  Despite Al-Farouq Amino, Enes Kanter, and Mo Harkless finding new homes, the team has retooled with the return of Jusuf Nurkic and Hassan Whiteside.  The Blazers reached the Western Conference Finals for the first time since 2000 last season, but were swept by the Golden State Warriors.

(Corvallis, OR)  --  After falling short this past weekend against Stanford, Washington State will visit UCLA Saturday.  Meanwhile, after a bye, number-13 Oregon will host Cal Saturday at Autzen.

(Kansas City, KS)  --  The Timbers will host San Jose in the final week of the season Sunday at Providence Park.  They have 46 points through 33 matches.  However, they're not out of danger.  FC Dallas is a point behind Portland for the seventh and final playoff spot, while the Earthquakes are just two back.  If the Quakes win and FC Dallas draw or win, the Timbers would be on the outside looking in of the playoffs.

(Seattle, WA)  --  Following their big win against the Cardinals in Arizona Sunday, the Seahawks will be back at it Thursday when they welcome the Rams to town.  The 'Hawks improved to 3-and-1 this weekend as LA fell to 3-and-1, losing to the Bucs in a shootout.
